FAQ

Can Banana Boat cause chemical burns?

No. Banana Boat sunscreens fall within a neutral pH range and only use ingredients and formulas that are in accordance with Health Canada regulations. This means that they are safe for both topical use and human skin and cannot cause chemical burns. Chemical burns are sometimes mistakenly linked to personal care products, or can be confused with sunburns due to causing similar symptoms (e.g. redness, pain, formation of blisters, skin peeling).

We encourage those who have concerns to visit a dermatologist who can determine the differences among a sunburn, chemical burn or a sensitivity, allergy or photallergic reaction and can advise on appropriate treatment.
